Katherine Brown-Henry Finishing Second Term on AAJ Board of Governors

Christie Farrell Lee & Bell attorney Kate Brown-Henry served a second term on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). The Board of Governors establishes and approves Association policies, including the annual budget for the organization. Each jurisdiction, usually a state, has its own delegates to the Board of Governors to serve as liaisons between state trial associations and the national association. In this role, Kate also gets the opportunity to work directly with lobbyists in Washington that are working to advance pro-civil justice interests.

She and her fellow delegates Tom Dorman and Betsy Green also get to hear from national focus groups about issues like forced arbitration. Their hard work meant Indiana was ranked the #3 most effective state delegation to the AAJ Board of Governors last year. “We aren’t doing this because it’s an obligation or to get a line on our resume,” Kate said. “What makes AAJ  so effective is that its governors are very involved in their roles and take on other commitments to strengthen the organization. I take this commitment very seriously because the work of the AAJ protects and advocates for the rights of all Americans.”

The American Association for Justice works nationwide to educate attorneys to be excellent civil advocates for their clients, and to make communities more aware of their protections under the law. This nomination is one more example of Kate’s diligence in ensuring civil justice is upheld. Congratulations Kate and thank you for the many hours you have dedicated to this important organization.
