Should I Give a Recorded Statement to My Insurance Company?
A frequently asked question we receive from clients, and potential clients, is them wondering whether they should give a recorded statement to their insurance company after an accident. This question’s important because if it’s your insurance company, the contract that you have with your auto insurance company requires you to cooperate with them, and part of that is giving a recorded statement if necessary. When my clients give recorded statements to their insurance company, though I’m on the line as well to make sure that the questions are appropriate and that my client understands the question and that it’s really just the bare minimum of what they need in order for my client to cooperate.
Now, I don’t like my clients give recorded statements to the at-fault insurance company unless absolutely necessary, and that’s really just case dependent. And again, I’m on the phone with my client when that happens.
